EMS Services and Liaison Work

EQUIP provides on-site medical support for festivals, community events, celebrations, conferences, and other gatherings. Our teams are there to provide first aid, assess illness and injury, respond to medical emergencies, and help connect patients with higher levels of care when needed.

But event medical care is more than having EMTs nearby.

We work with organizers before and during an event to think through emergency access, communication, medical response, accessibility, patient privacy, sensory needs, and coordination with local EMS. Our goal is to create a medical response system that fits your event and supports the people attending it.

Event Medical Services

EQUIP provides trained EMTs and medical equipment to support attendees, staff, volunteers, performers, vendors, and others at your event.

Depending on the event, our team may provide:

  • First aid and medical assessment

  • Illness and injury evaluation

  • Wound care

  • Basic wellness checks and vital signs

  • Bleeding control

  • Heat and cold-related care

  • Support for allergic reactions and other medical concerns

  • Emergency stabilization while awaiting additional EMS resources

  • AED access and emergency response equipment

  • Patient monitoring and reassessment

  • Documentation of patient encounters

  • Coordination with local EMS when additional treatment or transportation is needed

Our event medical teams include at least two EMTs so that care, communication, documentation, and emergency response can be managed safely and effectively.

Good event medical coverage starts before anyone needs medical care.

EQUIP works with event organizers and other event partners to establish clear plans for medical emergencies and determine how different parts of the event response system will work together.

This may include:

  • Identifying ambulance access and emergency routes

  • Establishing procedures for activating 911 and local EMS

  • Planning patient access, movement, and transport

  • Developing communication procedures between medical staff, event leadership, security, and volunteers

  • Identifying locations for medical care

  • Reviewing potential event-specific medical risks

  • Helping event staff understand when and how to involve the medical team

  • Coordinating patient handoffs to responding EMS crews

  • Supporting emergency and incident response planning

Our role is not to replace the local 911 system. We help create a bridge between the event and outside emergency services so that, when additional care is needed, the transition is as clear and coordinated as possible.

Community Care Areas

Not every person who needs support needs an ambulance, an emergency department, or a traditional medical tent.

EQUIP can provide a Community Care Area, a quieter and more private space where attendees can receive medical care, regulate, rest, hydrate, or access additional support.

Depending on the needs of the event, a Community Care Area may include:

  • A private or semi-private treatment space

  • Cots and seating

  • A low-stimulation or sensory-friendly area

  • Fidgets and sensory tools

  • Ear plugs and sunglasses

  • Hydration

  • Family or pumping space

  • Harm-reduction supplies and information

  • Community resources

  • Basic medical supplies

  • Space for mental health support and de-escalation

  • Reunification or short-term support when appropriate

The exact setup is customized to the event.

A Community Care Area gives people another option when they need help. It can also reduce unnecessary escalation by providing a space where someone can be assessed, supported, and involved in decisions about what happens next.
